Not a purl stitch in sight! This reversible garter stitch shawl features bands of modest lace and a playful asymmetrical shape, perfect for both beginners and experienced knitters! Using just one cake of HiKoo® Madrona, this cozy accessory knits up in no time on US 7 needles! The baby alpaca, merino, and viscose blend create a lustrous fabric nearly as soft as cashmere, with exceptional drape and stitch definition.
The shape is achieved by increasing and decreasing simultaneously on the RS rows and increasing on the WS rows, so one stitch is increased every 2 rows. This method creates a gently tilted triangle shape perfect for wrapping effortlessly around your neck. A sturdy i-cord edge is worked on both sides and the shawl is then finished with a picot bind off.

Marled Maple Cowl
Upsize sock-weight HiKoo® Madrona by holding it double-stranded throughout this playfully marled and striped tubular cowl. This piece has no wrong side because it’s worked in the round, and cleverly placed grafting makes for a completely invisible seam and a piece that looks great from all sides.
The yarn is held double-stranded throughout, making it twice as cozy! Before beginning, separate each cake into halves so you have 4 separate cakes to work with. This way, when working with one solid color, you can easily hold two separate strands of the same color. Follow the Jogless Stripe technique on page 2 to keep the transitions in between rounds more fluid.
