MATERIALS Rico Design Baby Merino Print (100% superwash merino wool; 25g/109 yds) • 016 Multicolor – 1 (2, 2) ball(s) *See Pattern Notes. Needles: US Size 3 (3.25 mm) set of DPNS (or your preferred needle for knitting small circumferences) or size needed to obtain gauge US Size 2 (2.75 mm) set of DPNS (or your preferred needle for knitting small circumferences) Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers, stitch holder or waste yarn
GAUGE 32 sts x 36 rnds = 4” in Stockinette stitch (St st) using larger ndl Save time, check your gauge.
PATTERN NOTES This hat is worked in the round from the bottom up. It begins with an I-Cord, then increases create an earflap. After working both ear flaps, stitches are cast-on and joined in the round to create a full brim.
The Newborn-3 months sample weighs 24 grams, taking up almost exactly one ball of yarn. You may wish to purchase a second skein as insurance.
