PATTERN NOTES
The mitts are knit flat from the bottom up. First a cuff is worked in the main color, then the main color and contrast color are alternated in a Slip Stitch Stripe pattern for the main portion of the mitt. Finally, the upper cuff is worked in the main color. When working the Slip Stitch Stripes in the Hand section, do not break yarn at the end of each stripe. Instead, carry the yarn up the side of the work and twist the strands of yarn around one another, taking care not to pull too tightly. In this pattern, work all slipped stitches purlwise with yarn held towards the wrong side of the work.

The hat is knit in the round from the bottom up. It is finished with a pom pom at the top.
