Spincycle Yarns was established in 2004. We are the spinsters, Rachel and Kate, and we produce luxurious yarns, hand-dyed and spun into small batches of perfection. +++ For eight years, we existed exclusively as a handspinnery. Lovely, cozy, intimate... and exhausting! We couldn't keep up! The search began for a cottage mill that would understand our DIY methods of dyeing and spinning; we wanted more efficiently produced yarns, but we didn't want to give up the unique look of Spincycle Yarns. +++ The search ended on Camano Island, where we found a mill that could meet all of our needs! Then, in the summer of 2017, WE BOUGHT THE MILL and moved it up to our new headquarters here in Bellingham! We now employ nine badass ladies, and the eleven of us crank it up and crank it out seven days a week! +++ Our yarns, patterns, and yours truly, have been featured in Spin Off, Stitch n' Bitch, Intertwined, Knit.Wear, Vogue Knitting, BUST, The Knitter, Pom Pom Quarterly, and Knitty. And we have been delighted to work with some amazing designers, including Andrea Mowry, Ann Weaver, Andrea Rangel, Lydia Gluck, Caitlin Hunter, Christina Danae, and Dianna Walla. +++ All yarns are dyed in the wool, resulting in intense saturation and unpredictable color changes. Every skein is one-of-a-kind, like us, like you.
