Kingston Tweed Volume I

Apogee - Designed by Adrienne Larsen. Apogee is a vest that delivers instant finesse. The geometric mosaic stitch pattern gives this classic piece a modern twist. The square neckline and relaxed fit make this layering piece perfect for dressing up or down. Kingston Tweed – a soft yet rustic yarn that blends wool, alpaca, and mixed fiber – is excellent for colorwork and offers a touch of tweed. What could be more timeless than a tweedy vest?

Shells and V-stitches give this shawl an open, drapey fabric. Triangular in shape, the top of the shawl features a “valley” that ensures the perfect fit around your neck. Stripes adorn the top and bottom edge and make this piece a modern classic. You'll love creating this piece as much as you’ll love wearing it.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Wingspan: 72”; Depth: 30¼”

MATERIALS
Fibra Natura Kingston Tweed (50% wool, 25% alpaca, 25% viscose; 50g/194 yds) • 112 Basalt (MC) – 6 skeins • 105 Ochre (CC) – 1 skein

GAUGE: 7 repeats and 13 rows = 6”/15 cm in pattern (Note: See Stitch Pattern for Gauge Swatch in Stitch Guide.); Save time, check your gauge.

PATTERN NOTES: Note that the sample took exactly five skeins of the main color. We recommend purchasing six skeins as insurance. Branscombe is worked from the top down with increases at the center back and each side. A marker will indicate the center back. When working into V-sts, work into the ch-2 space between the double crochets. The instructions are written to minimize the number of ends you need to weave in. Follow the directions for turning or not turning at the end of each row, carrying unused yarn up the side. Only cut yarn when directed to do so. To change colors at the end of a row, work the last stitch of the old color until two loops remain on hook, yarn over with new color and pull through the last two loops on the hook to complete the stitch.

Cladonia -

Knit up in Kingston Tweed, this sweater feels lightweight enough to wear when there is a warm breeze in the air, but warm enough to wear during the colder months as well. Twisted ribbing in a contrast color looks bold and beautiful. This piece is designed to have a higher neckline in the front than in the back, but you can wear it either way. The choice is yours, but whatever you choose you’re sure to look chic and cozy in this oversized garment.
