Kaizen - Designed by Amy Gunderson
PATTERN NOTES: Kaizen is a classic cardigan that is all about the details. Staggered Eyelet Columns run up body and sleeves, transitioning to stockinette for flattering lines. Pleated cuffs at the end of three-quarter length sleeves add a touch of femininity and the opportunity to learn a new technique. Check out the Universal Yarn blog for a photo tutorial on knitting the pleats featured in these cuffs. This cardigan is knit from the bottom up in pieces with raglan shaping.

PATTERN NOTES: This adorable and flattering tank will accentuate your waist. And to boot, Maki’s flirty peplum gives you reason to take a good twirl every now and then. The tank is knit from the bottom up, beginning with the peplum. Stitches are decreased in the moss stitch sections to the waist. The twist-stitch waistband is knit sideways, and is worked as a knit-on edging to the top of the peplum stitches. Stitches for the upper body are picked up from the sides of the waistband and knit upward.

PATTERN NOTES: This layering piece is equal parts feminine and funky. Two ruffles are knit from the bottom up and are joined with an I-Cord bind-off for a decorative edge. The body is picked up from the I-Cord and worked up in the round. I-Cord also finishes off armhole and neck edges.

PATTERN NOTES: This feminine pullover is worked in the round from the bottom up. After ruffle stitches are decreased, upper stitches are picked up from the wrong side, forming a decorative ridge and “seam” on the right side of the work. Lots of stockinette stitch makes this a great TV-knitting project.
