Inkberry is an oversized boomerang-shaped shawl comprised of simple eyelets and garter stitch stripes. It is knit on the bias, beginning at the tip and increasing to the widest edge. This design features springy superfine merino Donnina, with deep, saturated colors that play beautifully together!


INCLUDED MATERIALS
  • Color copy of pattern
  • Fibra Natura Donnina (100% superwash extrafine merino; 50g/180 yds)
    • 227 Balsam (A) – 4 balls
    • 215 Purple Beet (B) – 3 balls

  • Naito* Bamboo Knitting Needles:  (if not getting all, let us know which ones you need)
    • US Size 6 (4 mm) 32”or 40" circular

PATTERN NOTES
This shawl is knit flat beginning with the tip and increasing to the widest edge. After the initial shaping on the top, increases occur every WS row.

Width (at widest edge): 54½”

Needles: US Size 6 (4 mm) 32” circular or longer (to accommodate large number of sts) or size needed to obtain gauge

* Founded in 1948 in Japan, Naito Shoji has a long held tradition of quality. Now, Universal Yarns is proud to bring the no-twist circular needles of Naito Bamboo needles to our customers. We will be offering them exclusively in our kits.

Japan has its own sizing conventions when it comes to crafting. Universal has stickered the card with the closest US equivalent, while the Japanese sizing still imprinted on the needle itself.
