Stone Wall Bonnet

Design by Andrea Marquis

8.5 x 11 inch format, full color, instructions on back

A rectangle is knit with alternating textured panels and joined to form a cylinder.  Decreases at one end of wedge-shaped textured panels create hat crown shaping.  The hat is made intentionally too big and cinched to fit with JULpedestal buttons (pictured) or other JUL screw-in closures such as The Lock or Mod Loop.

This project takes approximately 200 yards of bulky yarn worked on US10 needles.

Drumlin Enclose Cowl Download

$7.50

Design by Andrea Marquis

8.5 x 11 inch format, full color, instructions on back

A Drumlin is a long ridge or oval-shaped hill formed by glacial drift, is the inspiration for the shaping and cabled motifs of this cowl.  The Drumlin knits up quickly in a super-bulky yarn and keeps the chill off of your neck and shoulders.  Give the Cowl a different look every time you wear it with JUL French Curve closures pictured on the pattern or a screw-in snap closure such as the Venetian Hinge or the Mod Loop, both of which are bold complements to the sculptural character of the Drumlin Enclose Cowl.

This project takes 130 yards of super-bulky yarn or 320 yards worsted weight with 3 strands held together worked on US17 needles.

Finished dimensions: 9.5 inches by 33.5 inches.

Furrow in Five Iterations Download

$7.50

Design by Laura Bellows

8.5 by 11 inch format, full color, with instructions on the back

The ridges used in this pattern evoke the furrows of earth created during farming.

This pattern contains five different projects, all of which build on the ridge (or welt) and explore different widths, depths, color contrasts, and shapes using this simple ridge-technique that requires only knits, purls, and wrap and turn.

The pattern takes worsted weight yarn worked on US7 needles

Material requirements are as follows:

Mink-Ish Stole: 630 yards each in two colors

Furrow Neckwarmer: 105 yards each in two colors

Dense Furrow Scarf: 210 (250) yards each in two colors

Wide Furrow Scarf: 210 yards each in two colors

Long Loop Cowl: 210 yards each in two colors

Strata Collar Download

$7.50

Design by Laura Bellows

8.5 x 11 inch format, full color, instructions on back

Strata is a collar knitted side to side that may be worked in a single color or in stripes with ridges along one edge, and a ruffling fullness along the other edge.  It may be worn with the ruffles spreading onto the shoulders or turn upside down so the ruffles frame the face, the front fastened by Jul screw-in, no-sew closures.  The ridges on the edge of this collar are intended to evoke the layers, or strata, of sedimentary rock.  At the same time, the voluptuous sensuality of the ruffles evokes the romance of beautiful silk skirts, tailored jackets, picnics on early spring days, the apple and pear trees in bloom, the brisk temperature allayed by this beautiful collar.

This project in solid color takes 500 yards of worsted weight yarn.  The striped Strata takes 250 yards each of two colors of worsted weight yarn worked on US7 needles.
