Saturday Sock Workshop

We're going to try and see if we can serve you better by offering this drop-in(ish) workshop for sock making.

Firstly, this will be like a sock "project class". Meaning - you can work on any sock pattern, and use any method you choose.

Such as:

  • 1 or 2 at a time.*
  • DPNs, 2 circular or Magic Loop.
  • Fingering - Chunky
  • Baby - Stocking**
  • A down
  • Plain, Lace, Cables or Colorwork***
There is a strict limit of 6 seats available each week. You may sign-up online up to the day before. You may sign up for as many as you want/need at a time. IF there is seating available, drop-ins are welcome.

Notes:

* We do not recommend 2 at a time for your first sock(s). We suggest instead, a stocking or baby sock first to get to know the construction methods.

** A smaller or larger size "sock" is faster to finish and get to know your construction before you learn how to make a sock fit your foot.

*** We recommend a plain sock for your first time, as learning too many new skills at once will take longer and could be frustrating.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Sock construction, help and guidance.
Materials Included: Pattern
Requirements: Prerequisites: Knitting 102 or equivalent experience Skills Needed: Cast-on, Bind-off, Knit, Purl. Being able to recognize and fix simple mistakes such as a dropped stitch is very helpful.
