The Changing Seasons of Life KAL/CAL

Personally, 2020 sucked really badly, I lost 4 loved ones; 2 aunts at the same time (and nearly a grandmother) and an adopted brother and dad back to back with only weeks between them to different cancers. I am still missing the dear friends lost in the few years before that. Sometimes it's good to bond with others over shared grief, so I am hosting a KAL (crochet is welcome too, but I'll have to research pattern suggestions). I found and fell in love with a pattern and it's story which is a tribute to Elisa Izquierdo.

    • Pattern suggestions: In Honor of Her
      • A 2 color brioche zigzag lace pattern with a 3rd, similar colored boarder of lace. NOTE: This is not a brioche class, if you choose this pattern you must already know how to knit it, we will not be teaching skills in this group.
      • Yarn: Fingering weight yarn. If you have an inherited skein (or 3) that you have been saving for the "right" pattern, this may be perfect for it.

        • MC: 350 yards; CC1: 350 yards; CC2: 310 yards
    • Or In Honor of Her Too
      • Yarn: Fingering weight yarn. If you have an inherited skein (or 3) that you have been saving for the "right" pattern, this may be perfect for it.

        • MC: 778 yards; CC1: 16 yards; CC2: 350 yards
    • Both patterns feature:
      • larger finished measurements makes it easier to style for a variety of body types
        • IHOH  -  Wingspan 88” | Depth 20.5”
        • IHOH2  - Wingspan 85.5” | Depth 27”
      • fun and interesting construction
      • engaging textured lace section
      • modern off-center triangle shape for easier wear -- stays on your shoulders and can be worn as a scarf
      • perfect project to showcase artisanal yarns with interesting color patterns such as speckles and luxury yarn base for the lace
      • pattern includes written instructions, charted instructions, and a schematic
    • Join us for a cast-on party on Monday October 4th @ 5:30pm
    • We will be researching a crochet recommendation as well.

  • A brokenhearted goodbye to Judie Wise.

Judie was an icon and constant in Sheep’s Clothing. She started working for Jimalee just after moving to Kennewick, when the store was across from Winco. She was encouraged to teach classes and did so 4 days a week for over 15 years. Judie learned to knit and crochet at age 3, from “Grandmom”, who […]
