OK, peeps, here’s the down low:
Call or come in to sign up. It is $6 for the pattern. Each Wednesday of the MKAL, you will be emailed a “clue” (a piece of the pattern). Release Dates: Wednesdays, Sept. 3, 10, 17, 24 & Oct. 1. You can participate any way you want. Knit at Sheep’s on Wednesdays KAL ($5 each week) or Saturday Tea Party ($10 each week) or on your own at home. At the end of the MKAL, each participant will receive the pattern as a whole in their email and Ravely for those who give that info.
1. Choose from 2 sizes: Shawl – 56” wide x 23” long -OR- Kerchief – 38” wide x 16” long
2. Choose 2 solid(ish) sock yarns like frolicking feet, smooshy, heritage or heritage silk, etc. Shawl – 290 yds. CA & 340 yds. CB / Kerchief – 200 yds CA & 220 yds CB. Hint: put the yarns next to each other, they should not be too similar. There should be a clear, stark difference in color.
3. #6 beads: Shawl – 40g / Kerchief – 20g. Hint: You don’t want them to blend it too well. We’ll order these on week 1, since they aren’t needed straight away.
4. Needles: US 5 (3.75mm) & 6 (4mm). Gauge is not critical but will affect the size of the finished shawl and the amount of yardage needed.
